HP scanner sometimes may not scan documents for various reasons. There may be issues with the scanner installation, the connection between the scanner and the computer, or some other technical issues.To fix the HP scan error that occurred while scanning error occurring while scanning, proceed with the steps given below.
Remove the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
Remove all the other cables that are connected to the printer.
Press and hold the HP printer's power button for a few seconds.
And now, connect the printer’s plug directly to the wall outlet and not to any surge protector.
Connect the power cord to the printer again and see whether the printer turns ON automatically.
If the printer doesn't turn ON, then manually turn it ON.

Remove all the USB cable before you start.
Open Windows and search for Programs and features.
In the Programs and features window, choose your HP Printer name.
Click the Uninstall option to uninstall your printer.
Now, open the Devices and Printers window.

Now, go to your desktop and open the Run command by pressing the "Windows key + R" keys together.
Type printui.exe /s, or paste this command and then click OK.
To open the driver's tab, click on the "Drivers."

Now, choose Apply and then OK in the Print Server Properties window.
Now, close Devices and Printers.
Open the Run command by pressing "Windows key + R" keys together.
Type c:/programdata and press OK.
Go to the HP folder on your desktop screen and remove all the printer-related folders & files.
Reboot your system after ensuring that the printer-related files have been removed.
Now, download the software for your printer model from HP official website and install it as you have done it for the first time.
If the above method doesn't work, download HP Print and Scan Doctor to resolve the HP scan error that occurred while scanning error.
Download HP Print and Scan Doctor from HP's official website.
Run the downloaded HPPSdr.exe file as administrator.
After the installation, open the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool, and then click Start.
Choose your printer. If your printer model name is not shown, Check the printer physically. If it is turned off, turn it on and then click Retry in the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool.
If there is still a connectivity problem, choose Fix Scanning error and follow the guide in the tool.
Once the HP Print and Doctor scan has resolved the issue, try to scan from your HP Printer.
