Step 1 : Collect Your Computer Details

Initially, you need to collect details, such as the hostname and IP address. To do so, open the CMD window on your computer.
In the command prompt, you have to type in the following command: ipconfig /all.
Now, your computer’s network details will be displayed on the screen.
Note down the details and make sure that the NetBIOS over Tcpip option is enabled.

Step 2 : Creating A Shared Folder

On your computer, you have to create a new folder and right-click on it.
Click on the Properties option.
Go to the Sharing tab followed by the Advanced Sharing button.
Now, in the Advanced Sharing dialog box, select the Share this folder option by clicking the checkbox beside it.
Click on the Permissions button followed by Add.
Make sure to provide read/write permissions for the created folder.
Click Apply > OK.

Step 3 : Configuring The Network Settings

To scan from your Ricoh printer to the computer, you need to register the computer on the printer.

Initially, collect the following network setting details: TCP/IP address, Subnet mask, Gateway address, Domain name, and SMB workgroup name.

Now, go to your Ricoh printer’s operational panel.

Press on the User Tool button.

Tap System Settings > Interface Settings.

Now, enter the network settings details that are prompted.

Tap on the Ping Connect button.

Now, enter your computer’s host address in the given field and tap PING.

Press the User Tools button on your printer.
Select Address Book Management > New Program > Folder.
Now, type the shared folder path in the given field and tap Next.
Tap on the Auth Info tab.
Type the folder credentials in the given fields.
Carry out the on-screen instructions to register the shared folder.
Once it is done, you can scan a document from your Ricoh printer to the computer.

Step 5 : Scan To Computer

Load the document or photo that you want to scan.
Press the Scan button on your printer’s operational panel.
Now, in the displayed window, select the Folder option.
Configure the scan settings by following the on-screen instructions.
Finally, tap on the Done button.
Now, your printer will scan the placed document, and a copy of it will be saved to your computer’s shared folder.
