Scan to a computer (Windows):
Before you start with the procedure for scanning, confirm that the following requirements are met:
- The printer firmware has been updated.
- The printer and the computer are connected.
There are two ways to scan an original on a Windows computer. Both methods are described below:
Utilizing the Lexmark ScanBack Utility:
The Lexmark ScanBack Utility is a wizard that has been designed for scanning a hardcopy document.
- First, make sure that the Lexmark ScanBack Utility is installed on your computer. You can download this tool from the Lexmark official site.
- Next, run this utility on your computer. Click on the Next button and continue using the steps to scan on Lexmark MC3326.
- On the page that appears next, click on the Setup button. Now, add your printer’s IP address.
- You have to click on Close followed by the Next button.
- You need to choose the size of your original document and then click on the Next button.
- Now, select a suitable file format and scan resolution. Click on the Next button.
- Enter a unique scan profile name and click Next.
- Browse to the location (folder) where you wish to save the scanned document.
- You need to create a file name for this document and then click on the Next button.
- Now, click on the Finish button and continue with the steps to scan on Lexmark MC3326.
- Now, the original document (that is to be scanned) should be loaded face up into the printer’s ADF or face down on the scanner glass.
- From the Home screen of your printer, touch the Scan to Computer option. Next, choose a scan profile.
Utilizing the Windows Fax and Scan application:
- Windows Fax and Scan is an integrated faxing and scanning application.
- First, confirm that the printer has been added to your computer.
- Next, load the original face up into the ADF or face down on the scanner glass.
- On your computer, launch the Windows Fax and Scan application.
- Go to the Source menu and then choose a scanner source.
- You can now modify the scan settings, if required.
- Follow the rest of the steps to scan your original.
- You have now successfully finished scanning on Lexmark MC3326.
Scan to a computer (Mac):
- First, confirm that the printer has been added to your computer.
- Next, load the original face up into the ADF or face down on the scanner glass.
- Now, perform one of the following actions on the computer:
- Open Image Capture.
- Open Printers & Scanners. Next, you need to select a printer. You need to choose this path: Scan -> Open Scanner.
You will find that the Scanner window pops up. Here, perform one or more of the tasks given below:
- Pick the location to save the scanned document.
- Choose the size of the original document.
- If you are scanning from the ADF, go to the Scan menu and select the Document Feeder option.
- Adjust the scan settings, if required.
- Finally, click on the Scan button.
- You have now successfully performed scanning on Lexmark MC3326.
